Big Picture: Our Data Collection Practices

At Ponder, whether you are a student or a teacher, we take your privacy very seriously. This Privacy Policy describes Ponder's policies and procedures on the collection and use of your information when you use the Ponder Paper service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we use persistent and session cookies and other tracking technologies to: (a) store your authentication status; (b) analyze the usage of the Service; (c) customize the Service to your preferences; and (d) enhance your navigation through the site. A persistent cookie remains on your computer after you close your browser so that it can be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the Service. If you logout of the Service, the persistent cookie is removed. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your web browser's directions. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features of the Service may not function properly if the ability to accept cookies is disabled.

We may aggregate and/or anonymize information collected through the Service so that the information does not identify you. Data Uses

Outside of supporting your Ponder experience, Ponder data will only be used to improve the quality of the underlying platform - your personal data will not be shared with third-parties.

Industry Standard Security Practices

Ponder uses commercially reasonable physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of your personal information. For example, all data is transmitted over encrypted channels to and from Ponder servers, and our servers are secured using industry-standard best practices and protocols.

We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to Ponder or guarantee that your information on the Service may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

In the event that personal information is compromised as a result of a breach of security, Ponder will promptly notify those persons whose personal information has been compromised, in accordance with the notification procedures set forth in this Privacy Policy, or as otherwise required by applicable law.

COPPA - Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act

Schools using Ponder Paper with students under the age of 13, you must get parental consent before adding them to your Ponder groups.

Parents or users: If you have any questions or requests (for example, data review or deletion) around privacy chat with us or submit a ticket.

FERPA - Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act

For schools or universities concerned about FERPA compliance, no school records are stored in Ponder, and no Ponder personal data is ever shared with third parties.
